Dunedin, are earnestly requested to meet at the Otago Hotel on Saturday, 22nd inst., at 7.30 p.m., to take steps towards raising Subscriptions for the Relief of Widows and Orphans through the present disastrous War. The work is made entirely from our native woods perfectly free from staining. His Excellency Sir George Bowen expressed great pleasure on viewing it, and has earnestly recommended it to the public notice. The work is named “ the Evergreen ” ns being characteristic of the New Zealand bush, contains 4000 pieces of wood, and occupied four years iu completing it. ADMISSION, ONE SHILLING. THE OTAGO FREEHOLD LAND BUILDING AND INVESTMENT SOCIETY. The Publishers of the Maps of Timaru, Oamaru, Hokitika, Wanganui, Auckland, Greymouth, Lyttelton, Christchurch, and other Towns, beg respectfully to inform the public that their Illustrated Map of Dunedin and Port Chalmers is about being published. Agents are now throughout the whole of the province soliciting advertisements, &c., wh,ich, will guarantee its wide circulation. Agents for Dunedin, will show the public sample maps that are now being issued of the above towns.
