So delicate was his state of health that it was the subject of remark; there was hurried breathing, emaciation, debility, and other unmistakeable symptoms of phthisis. He called several tunes afterwards, each time buying a bottle, and so improved in appearance that we congratulated him upon it. He said that Old Dr Jacob Townsend’s Sarsaparilla had saved his life, and also that of his brother, who was far gone in consumption, and who had been taking it with the same benefit as himself.
