Tins Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor, and Henry Driver, Esq., J.P.) DRUNKENNESS. J. H. M ‘Loan was fined 5s for this offence, hut was cautioned that if he were again brought up on a similar charge, he would he sentenced to Id days’ imprisonment, OFFENCES AGAINST THE BYE-LAWS. James Bain for allowing the chimney of his house to take fire was fined 2s 6d, and George Blyth for a similar offence was fined as and costs. James Darrah, for allowing a cow to wander within the town limits was fined 5s and costs, and Matthew Hickson for a similar offence was mulcted in the sum of 20s and costs. A charge of displacing soil on the Town Belt preferred against Duncan M'lutyro was dismissed with a caution. ASSAULT. Peter Gregg was fined 20s and costs for assaulting Robertson.
