At the sale of grain, ex Margaret Campbell, from Oamarn, to-day, barley fetched 3s 6d to 4s; oits, 3s 9s to 3s lOd ; wdieat, 4s 5d 1 flour, LI 6. Lines, late Deputy CommissaryGeneral, for embezzling Imperial Government money, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment. At the inquest on the body of tbo man Flynn, to-day, tbo jury returned a verdict of found drowned. The weekly crushing of the Golden Crown Claim yielded 457 ounces. At the Flying Cloud Claim, Coromandel, 15 tons of stone gave 18 ozs. of gold. The Golden Point Claim, Coromandel, returned one ounce of gold to the ton. September 19. Arrived—Moa, from Tahiti. Tiie rejection of the Tariff Bill does not lower the. price of wheat. The bailiff difficulty at the Thames has boon settled. A great Native meeting is to be held at the Thames on Thursday next. New Plymouth, Sept. 20. Mr Parris arrived at Pariaka safely. The Natives expressed surprise at hearing that Tito Kowavu had gone, armed to the meeting. He had not shown np there, but was beard of two miles south of Oeo. The Blanche arrived bore on Saturday. Great satisfaction is expressed at tbo prompt action taken by the Government iu the matter. The mooting at Pariaka lias began, but the talk is likely to end in nothing being done.
