Gi ENTLEMEN,— In reply to yeoa rtI" quisitiou, I shall only be too happy to be at yonr service, and to allow myself to be nominated as a candidate for Leith Ward, and should you place mo in the honorable position of your representative in the City Council, I shall think it my duty to do all that lies in my power to forward your interest. It is now about eight years since I was a member of tho Town Board, and afterwards a member of the City Council. Since then, I have been Inspector of City Works ; so, Gentlemen, for seven fall years I have been connected with the welfare of tho City. While 1 have been Inspector, iM have offended any one, I hope they will look oyer it, as no one should blame a person for doing hi» duty ; and should I be elected I shall always feel it my duty to attend to the interest of the ratepayers of the City in general.
