Among the legends of hotels is recorded the story of a visitor, who, in dire displeasure at the amount of his hill, angrily declared to the waiter that he should write at once to the newspapers. “Yes, sir,’’was the waiter’s answer, as he produced a sheet of notcpaper and an envelope, “ yes sir, only one shilling extra. ”
