RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Tins Day, (Before A. C. Strode, Esq., R.M.) Civil Cases. Oliver v. Prin—This was a case of dispute about the non-delivery of timber. It appeared that the defendant had engaged to deliver a load of timber to the plaintiff, but that his horse was unable to drag it up to the place. By permission of the owner of an adjoining section it was put over a fence, and defendant offered to provide a dray to convey it as agreed This was refused by the plaint-ff, who required delivery on his own ground. Two shillings were paid into Court. Judgment for the defendant. Oliver and Ulph v. John Donovan—Ls 17s. Judgment by default for plaintiffs. Hirsch v. E. M'Micken—Ll 7s 9d, balance of account current. Judgment by default for plaintiff. Gregory v, Alex, Taylor—Adjourned to "Wednesday, the defendant having to appear in the Mayor’s Court. Three cases were struck out for nonappearance.
