The revenue returns for the first half of the present year wore published on the Bth inst., and showed a total receiptof L 1,446,131 Os 4d during that period, being a decrease of L 8,121 17s Bd, as compared with the revenue for the corresponding half of 1869. This trifling falling oil' we may hope will be made up during the nert six months, as we have just passed through an exceptionally dull season. —A vMralcman. A bill for the abolition of state aid to religion has passed through both Houses of Parliament; but the cessation of the grant —L50,000 per annum—will not take effect until the end of the year 1873. In the meantime the various denominations will bo enabled, under certain provisos, to hold in perpetuity the land granted to them by the state, and amounting in the aggregate to within a fraction of 1d,717 acres.— Jbid,
