THE LATE ELECTION.
To the Editor of the Evening Star. Sin, —In reply to “Anglo Scotus” in this morning’s Tivies,. I beg leave to state that I am not in any way identified with the opinions expressed by him. And I desire now to state that I sincerely hope no farther correspondence will take place upon the late contest for the Mayoralty; the same having been fought in my opinion on fair and honorable grounds, at all events so far as I and my friends end supporters are concerned ; and among whom, I am prond to say, were ranked many Scotch Presbyterians. 1 am, &c., John Griffen.
