MILLAR AND THE LOAN.
To the FMifor of- */m Keening Star,
Sihj, When Mr Miller meets tho electors this evciiiug I should he glad if ho will give us his authority for asserting that the present Ministry have proposed to contract for a “ ten million loan ” I have n.it yet been able to “digest tho statement line by line,” as Mr Millar professes to hare done, but have a vague impression that six millions is n arer the mark of the sum really “proposed to bo contracted for, &c ” This, together with the one million likely to result from tho efforts of the Commissioners at Homo, will limit “the judicious expenditure," to be suggested byiMr Millar, to some three millions less than he proposes to deal with. Perhaps Mr Millar may think ao small au amount wholly beneath. Ida notice. Quizes.
