BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.
[from our own correspondent.]
Wellington. July 7
The debate on finance commenced at 8 p.m. last night. The House adjourned at 12.30. Messrs Vogel, Richmond, and Travers spoke. The Opposition are evidently reticent, and afraid to oppose the Budget with the hustings in view ; the leaders holding back till Auckland declares. tl is reported that Mr Macandrew goes home as the General Government Immigration Agent. There is not the slightest truth in the report.
