Invercargill, July I,

A public piceting is to be held here to-night, to take steps for ascertaining the fate of the Daphne. The weather here is squally, wet, and cold, The schooner Pioneer sailed for Dunedin on Saturday. v . July At a public meeting held last night, re missing crew of the Daphne, a committee was appointed to get a vessel sent off to search with or without the 00-operation of Government. To-day the committee put themselves into communication with the Provincial and General Governments on the subject. The General Government has taken the matter up, and a vessel will be despatched immediately.
