BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. [from ouk qw’s eommsroxDEXT.] Wellington, June 10. Auckland, June 6. The Wonga Wonga arrived on the 4th. She brings sixty passengers. The City of Auckland and Airedale arrived the same day. A great public meeting was held here on the 3rd. Fifteen hundred people wore present, including members of the General Assembly and Provincial Council and most of the leading merchants. The following resolutions were unanimously carried :—lst. That a line of steamers between San Francisco, New Zealand, and the Australian Colonies is worthy of the support of New Zealand. 2nd. That Auckland being the nearest port in a direct line, as well as it is in commercial importance, entitle it to be the port of call. 3rd. No member of the Assembly for the Province can have the confidence of his constituency who joins any party to remove the. port ot call from Auckland. 4th. That in the event of the Assembly declining to carry out the present contract, Auckland should take it up. 5, That a Conference be appointed to co-operate with the Chamber of Commerce in communicating with Sydney, by deputation or otherwise. Flax has advanced 50s per ton. June 7. The Wonga Wonga left full of passengers, and all were accommodated. The City of Melbourne leaves on the 7th July. Pout Chalmers, June 10. The Taranaki and Adeline Burke sailed to day. The Beautiful Star has been undocked. Ghbymouth, June 10. . Arrived—Jane Ann from Dunedin, after a very stormy passage.
