Bluff, June 3, 1 p.m, Gothenburg for Melbourne, , Pieton : June 2nd, 7.45 a.m, Airedale for Nelson. Wellington : June 3rd, early, Airedale for Pieton. The Wreck Recovery Company’s s.s. Taranaki arrived at Port Chalmers about 1 p.m. ; Reports having left Auckland at 3.15 p m. on 28th May ; arrived at Hawkes Bay at 3 p.m. on 30th, leaving at 11.15 a.m. on 31st; arrived at Wellington at 8 a.m. and leaving Rt 7.30 p.m. ; arrived at Lyttleton on morning of 2nd, leaving at 3. 45 p m. on same day. Experienced light N.E. winds and thick weather from Auckland till off Poverty Bay, when a heavy southerly gale set in, with a tremendous sea ; hove ship to at 6 p.m. on 29th until 9 a.m. on the 30th, when the gale having moderated, she proceeded to Napier. From thence to Lyttelton had light variable Winds with fine weather ; on leaving Lyttelton met ’with strong southerly winds and heavy sea, followed by light N. E. winds till arrival as above.
