Kennedy, commander, cleared the Manukau Heads at 4 p.m. on the 18th instant, and arrived at Taranaki at 4 a.m. on the 19th ; had a very heavy sea and wind from the north during the trip ; landed passengers and part of cargo, and sailed at 9a.m., arriving at Nelson at 11 p.m. ; landed passengers and sailed from Nelson at 11 a.m. on the 21st, arriving at Picton at 6 p.m. ; landed cargo, ■Und, after taking on board passengers, left at 7.30 a.m. on the 22ud; had light head Winds across the Straits, and arrived alongside the Wellington wharf at noon on Sun--day. Reports a number of whales at the entrance of Tory Channel, and eight boats being out. Left on Tuesday night, arriving at Lyttelton yesterday; left at 3.7!5 p.m., and arrived in Port a little before noon to-day. Thhc barque Midas, owned by Captain Clark of this Port, was placed on the floating dock to-day. The pumping operations were being carried on when our despatch left.
