GRAHAM’S OBJECTIONS.
To the Editor of (he Evening Star. Sm, —The formidable list of objections to electors on the roll, preferred by Mr Graham, has been the subject of much laughter and jest; but it will be a serious matter for the objector if parties objected to exercise their rights. The “ Registration of Electors Act ” provides that an elector may object to any name being on the roll; but if the objection is “groundless, or frivolous and vexatious/’ the objector may be made to pay costs under LlO in each case, and, costs being awarded under one case, “ no further objection by the »suie objector to be heard till costs are paid or deposited. 1 ’ If the first of Mr Graham’s objections is found groundless, and the party objected to claims costs, and each in succession follows suit, the redoubtable will require to provide himself with plenty of cash. In the event of costs not being paid imprisonment may ensue.—Yours, One of the Objected. Kith May, 1870.
