ARRIVED. Lyttelton; May 6th, 6 a.m, Ahuriri, from Dunedin. Bluff : May 6th, 9 a.m, Gothenburg, from Dunedin. Wellington : May Gth, 11.30 a.m, Rangitoto, from Lyttelton, SAILED. Lyttelton : May sth, 6.50 p.m, Rangitoto, for North. Bluff : May 6th, 12.25 p.m, Gothenburg, for Melbourne. Two timber-laden vessels, the Ruby and Lindsays, arrived this morning. The Timaru Herald is responsible for the statement that the Dunedin Harbor Company are likely to purchase the steamer Wellington, and place her in the same trade as the Maori. The s.s. Taranaki arrived at Port Chalmers at 10 a.m., having left Wellington at 3.40 p.m. on the 4th hist. Captain Holmes reports having experienced fresh head winds with heavy easterlj" sea during the early part of the passage, followed by light variable winds with easterly swell till arrival as above. The Taranaki, on arrival, was removed to the floating dock, which is now occupied by the Crest of the Wave. We are informed that she will be docked on Tuesday next. She is said to have averaged 10 knots daring a considerable portion of the passage. In appearance she really looks well, not differing materially from what she was when we last saw her. We are indebted to the purser for files.
