IN pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858,” I, John Burnside, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Caversham, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a writ bearing date the 2nd day of April, 1870, issued under the hand of his Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an election will be held for the return of one qualified person to serve as a member of the House of Representatives for the said electoral district, in room of Arthur John Burns, Esquire, resigned; and that the nomination of candidates will take place at the Schoolhouse, Caverfham, on Tuesday, the 19th day of April, 1870, at 12 o’clock noon ; and that the poll (if necessary) will be taken on Monday, the 25th day of April, 1870.
