She cleared Port Phillip Heods at 6.45 p.m. on the 24th March ; experienced strong E, and S.E. winds ; arrived off Hokitika at 4 p.m, on the 30th ; discharged cargo, and sailed for Nelson at 9 a.m, on the 31st, arriving at 9.45 on the Ist April; left at 10 p.m. same day, and arrived at Wellington at 11.15 a.m. on the 2nd; sailed for Lyttelton at 12 midnight, and arrived at Lyttelton on the 4th at 10.30 a.m. ; left at 4.10 p.m. on the sth, encountering the full force of the gale which raged on Tuesday evening and yesterday ; reached the Heads at midnight, and lay to, arriving as above. We are indebted to Mr Norris, purser, for files. This morning the Geelong went down to tow up the Bengal. The schooner Falcon, of Blenheim, which left Taranaki for Opunaki on Monday, with the material for a flax mill there, has become a total wreck. It seems that she parted her chains from the heavy swell rolling in there after the full extent of her cable was veered out.
