MAIL 3 CLOSE — For Oamaru, per p.s. “Wallace, on Tuesday, the 22nd inst., at 8.45 a.m. Per s.s. Tararua, on Tuesday, the 22nd inst.;— For India, China, Japan, Penang, Singapore, Point de Galle, Aden, Mauritius, the British, French, and Austrian Post-offices at Alexandria, Malta, Gibraltar, Marseilles ; and the Travelling P.O. from Marseilles to Lyons, at 12 noon. For the Australian Colonies (except Melbourne) and London via- Southampton, at 1 p.m. For London via Marseilles, and London via Brindisi, Victoria, and Southland, at 1.50 p.m. For issue of money orders at 10 a.m. For registered letters and newspapers at 11 a.m. Late letters for London via Marseilles, and Melbourne may be posted till 1.40 p.m, with late fees additional to the postage as under : -London via Marseilles, IQd per letter ; Melbourne, 6d per letter. N.B.—Correspondence intended for transmission by the above routes should bo addressed “ via SneE,” For Timaru, Akaroa, Lyttelton, Christchurch, Hokitika, and Greymouth, per s.s. Maori, on Tuesday, the 22ud inst., at 3.30 p.m. For Southland, per s.s. Airedale, on Tuesday, the 22ndinst., at 5 p.m. For Oamaru, per p.s. Wallace, on Friday, the 25th inst., at 8.45 a.m. N.B.—Mails for the United Kingdom, the Continent of Europe, the West Indies and America via San Francisco, will leave Port Chalmers about the 25th inst. The rates of postage for the United Kingdom will be the same as those via Suez and Southampton. In future, all correspondence not specially addressed will be sent via San Francisco. N.B. Wednesday next, 23rd inst., the anniversary of the Province, being a public holiday, this offico will be closed.
