(from our own CORPESPONDENT.) Christchurch, March 10, 2.02 p.m. A tiro broke out this morning, at three o’clock, in Cashel street. It originated in Patterson’s restaurant, and was quickly communicated to Sandstciu’s, the jeweller’s, and Brass’s, draper. The latter being brick, caught lire on the roof, but a party wall saved Pratt's, draper, whose roof caught tire, but was speedily put out. The following damage was done ; —Pattersons restaurant, totally destroyed, partly insured ; Bandstem’s loss consists of stock removed j Brass’s building gutted stock, valued at LG, OOO, destroyed and damaged j Pratt’s roof damaged—stock removed and damaged iu consequence to the amount of LI, OOO. An inquest is to be held to-morrow.
