The Tararua Lighthouse has been burned down, and the inmates had a narrow escape. Two children wore scorched. The English mail arrived yesterday by the barque Constance. The new Hag for the Governor is the Union Jack, with a wreath in the centre. The Arawas refuse to follow Te Koiti on the terms offered, viz., L 5,000 for his capture. Te Pohiha has gone to Maketu to hold a meeting of chiefs. The Government intend following Te Knoti with tiie Ngatiporou. Kemp and Tophi start from Ohiwa. Rations are to be supplied by the Government. No pay except in case of capture of Te Kooti. The crushiugs at the Long Drive of specimens Troduced 653 ounces (shares rising); Una, 516 tons, 595 ounces; Mount Pleasant, tons, 24 ounces 13dwts. ; Dauntless and Sink to Rise, 85 tons, 233 ounces ; Belfast, 56 tons, 119 ounces; Mariner’s Reef, 81 tons, 126 ounces; Poverty and Charleston, 37 tons, 82 ounces. Rich specimens taken from Jamaica claim.
