[from our own correspondent.] Wellington, January 27, 3.25 p.m. Auckland, January 25. The miners at Coromandel lield a meeting on Saturday. There were 3,600 persons present. It was resolved that TOO men should open the Oliinemuri by force. After the meeting they commenced buying arras and ammunition, and engaging boats. Five hundred men met yesterday, prepared to start with swags, &c. A steamer is waiting. After the speeches it was determined to once more wait upon the Government, and urge the immediate opening of the Ohinemuri. The deputation was to wait to-day. The Sturt has just arrived from Tauranga. The Lima arrived last night from Sydney, and has gone to Tauranga this morning with despatches. To Kooti is said to be building a pa at Tapapa. The forces are converging upon him. Colonel M‘Donnell and Kemp are delayed for want of provisions. Colonel Moule has gone from Cambridge with a division of the militia. The Waikato is in a deplorable state. The crops are abandoned, and the harvest spoiling. All the settlers are in the redoubts. Te Kooti is said to be receiving reinforcements daily. The mail contract documents were published in the Cross to-day. It is stated that the first steamer leaves Auckland on April 2nd.
