MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (Before T. Birch, Esq., R.M.) DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. J. Brown for this offence was fined 5s and costs. Ann Nolan, for “soliciting” in the public streets, was fined L2 or 48 hours’ imprisonment. STEALING A COAT. M. Brandon was charged with stealing from the premises of P. O’Brien one coat. He was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment with hard labor. NEGLECTED CHILDREN. George Mawbrey, aged 11 years; James Mawbrey, 9 years ; and William Mawbrey, 7 years; were brought up as being neglected children. It was stated in evidence that the father was dead and the mother a dissipated woman, who left the children to wander about or live as they could. The two eldest were sent to the Reformatory for three years and the youngest for five.
