MAILS CLOSE For Oamaru, Timam, Akaroa, Lyttelton, Christchurch, Hokitika, and Greymonth, per s.s. Wainui, on Saturday, the 22nd inst., at 1.30 p.m. Registered letters, money orders, and newspapers, one hour previous. For Northern Provinces of New Zealand, per s.s. Wellington, on Tuesday, the 25th inst. at 10.30 a.m. Per s.s. Tarania, on Monday, the 24th inst: For India, China, Japan, Penang, Singapore, Point de Galle, Aden, Mauritius, the British, French, and Austrian Post-offices at Alexandria, Malta, Gibraltar, Marseilles; and the Travelling P.O. from Marseilles to Lyons, at 12 noon. For the Australian Colonies (except Melbourne) and London via Southampton, at Ip.m. For London via Marseilles, Victoria, and Southland, at 1.30 p.m. For issue of money orders at 10 a.m. For registered letters and newspapers at 11 R.m. , _ . Late letters for Melbourne and London via Marseilles, with a late fee of 6d attached in stamps, may be posted till 1.40 p.m. ARCH.
