Bendigo quartz mills PANY, REGISTERED. [To be registered finder *■ The -Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865.”] s CAPITAL, £6,500, in 1,300 Shares of £5 each. AJ 'erectors : William GBk Esq., Princes street. John M.P.C. F. H. Princes staeet. Edward vPKlashan, Esq., Princes street. Charles S. Reeves, Esq., Maclaggan street. BANKERS: The Bank of Otago, Limited. solicitors i . ; 1 Messrs Kenyon andMaddpck, Princes street. broker: F. H. Evans, Princes street. The urgent need that exists at the Bendigo Gully Reefs for a Public Battery for Quartz Crushing has led to tho formation of this Company. At this time there are about fifty claims in a more or less advanced stage of development, of which number about a dozen have now quantities of stone, known to be auriferous, which they are anxious to have tested ; the rest are being vigorously pushed-fo-iward ; and long ere the Public Battery erected there is no doubt many additional claims will be prepared to avail themselves of its services. In the meantime, sixteen claims (by their representatives) have signified their intention to send their stone to this Company’s Bqttery as soon as crushing cap be proceeded with. > The lines of Reef are five in number, viz. ; —The “ Bendigo,” the/“ Aurora,” the “ Coldough’s,” the “ Alta,” and lastly, “ Stewart Richmond’s” ; and inovery line, without exception, auriferous stone is laid. open. ' > It is proposed to limit the capital, in the first instance, to L 6,500, which will be amply sufficient to erect a Battery of fifteen head of stamps ; to acquire valuable water-rights, for the purpose of bringing water tor bear as a motive power on the said Battery; and to construct a water-race, carrying sufficient water to drive the above. In order that doubter difficulty as to the CJsi maybe at once a responsible party has agreed to execute the whole of the works necessary for the sum of L 6,000, an offer which the Directors have conditionally accepted. It will he observed that this Company, offers a sound and legitimate means for .the investment of capital. There i? nothing' whatever speculative in its character. It merely makes a specific charge per ton for the stone crushed, and its revenue may be calculated on the following basis ; Fifteen head of stamps will crush. per week about 180 tons—say--150 tons, at a charge of £1 per ton £l5O per week. EXPENSES. Labor, 4 men—£6, £5, £4, £4.. £l9 .Quicksilver 2 Shoes aud repairs... 2 Contingencies 2 Profit ... £125 per week. Or £6,500 per annum. The water rights offered to this. Company are, owing to the scarcity-of water at the Reefs, of an especially valuable character. They extend as far back as Grumbling Gully, taking in numerous side streams,, and terminating in the very heart of the Reefs at Bendigo Gully. It is intended to bring in the quanta oi O t io n of Une water-race nearest the point of delivery ; hereafter, when it becomes expedient to extend the works of the Company by additional stampers, a farther extension back of the Race will also be needful; auii it is indisputable, that if this Company, is prepared hereafter to subscribe the requisite funds to bring in the full supply of twelve heads'a very large revenue must be obtained, as a further advantage which this Company s water possesses is that it will, owing to its low elevation, flow all the year round; whereas the existing supply. of water in the district, being mostly brought ;in at a high elevation, furnishes no supply for about three months in the year. . • A considerable number of the Shares being already applied for, early application is re? quested for the remainder. All applications to be made in the annexed form, addressed to the Directors, and left at the office o£ the Broker, F. H. Evans, Princes street, Dunedin. FORM OF APPLICATION FOR SHARES.
