Original Poetry.

LINES TO THE MEMORY OP THE EOUH WHO WERE DROWNED. Some are iu health and gaiety of life, Seeking for pleasures in this world of strife ; Out down, and sank beneath the Hood, No more to rise or walk upon life’s road. Others have sank beneath the swelling wave, Hands stretched to help, and yet they could not save ; Four souls have gone to their eternal home—Have they made sure of Christ, the living stone ? And in the building are they now secure, Washed iu the blood of Jesus, white and pure ? If so, for them their friends need have no fear, But still to mem’ry they may drop a tear. Who for the widow and orphan will provide Jesus, the Saviour, Husband, Father, Guide. M. L. M. Dunedin, 21st December, 18(>9.
