A despatch received by the Governor states that Admiral Hornby and flying squadron will be at Wellington on January 20th, and at Auckland on February Ist. The Governor has asked the Admiral to adhere to his original intention of visiting Lyttelton.
Te Kooti lias reached Maraeroa, fifty miles from Tokangamutu. Lewi’s messenger told him to remain quiet. Te Kooti said he was going to Tokangamntn, to make his own laws. The King Natives are assembling, and fighting is imminent. The New Zealand Insurance Company Lave declared a dividend o£ ten pcv cent, and have carried LG,OOO to the profit And loss account. Messrs Mackany and Grove have been elected for the Thaipes. There were disgraceful proceedings at Coromandel on the polling day. 3,500 ounces of gold have been received from the Thames. A crushing at the Mount Macedon Claim of 2 tons yielded 3ozs 25dwts ; Royal Charter, 25 tons, yielded loozs. A rich leader has been struck in the Digger’s Friend Claim.
