DISTRICT SCHOOL EXAMINATION.
The annual examination of the scholars attending the different District Schools in Dunedin have begun, apd that qf the children attending the North Dupedin School concluded to day, when the usual presentation of prizes, and vocal entertainment took place. There was a large attendance of the parents of the children, and visitors; and among the latter were the Rev. D. M. Stuart, Mr Hisl>p (Inspector of Schools), Mr J. Taylor (Sub-Inspector of Schools), an 4 Mr H. F. Hardy (Secretary of the D nedin School Committee). The following is a list of the prize takers : GIRLS. Senior History Class.—Dux prize, for highest marks in all subjects taught, Isabella Johnson; 2nd, Margaret Campbell; 3rd, Agnes Wilson ; 4th, Christina Miller ; stb, Anne Nicolson ; 6th, Isabella Galt. Good Beading.—lst, Christina White ; 2nd, Marion Forrest; 3rd, Sarah Boss. General Improvement.—Margaret M‘lntosh, Charlotte Campbell. Singing prize.—lsabella Wood. Sewing.—(Prize presented by S.
