Deputation.—A deputation waited upon his Honor the Superintendent at 1.3G to-day, to present a memorial praying that the money voted by the Provincial Council for expenditure on the Fort Chalmers and Blueskin road might be laid out a ■ intended. The deputies were Messrs M'Dermid, M.P.C., Lean, and Syme. His Honor replied that he would lay the matter before the Executive, and had ho doubt the prayer of the m.niorial would be acceded to. Sporting.—A jiigeon-shooting match took place at the Vauxhall Gardens on Saturday afternoon. There was a tolerably good company present. In the first sweepstake Mr Clayton was the successful competitor ; in the second, Mr Sneade ; and in the third, Mr Woodland. Other matches are announced to come off on Saturday next, when we hope to see a good muster of the lovers of this sport. Princess Theatre. —The drama of “ The Bottle,” and the burlesque of “ Blackcy’d Susan,” were presented to a full house on Saturday evening. The drama embodies a series ot tableaux, which were represented in a striking and effective manner. Mr Bayner and Mrs H. Jackson, who personated the chief characters, were called before the curtain at the end of each act to receive the plaudits of the house. This evening the romantic drama, in three acts, of “The Will and the Way,” founded on the popular work of Mr J. F. Smith, and the burletta of “ The Rustic Prima Donna,” will bo presented.
