(from our own correspondent. ) Wellington, Monday. The Maori prisoners are now being sentenced. Forty-one have been disposed of as yet. They have all been sentenced to be hung, drawn, and quartered, With the exception of one, all will be reprieved, Tauroa, the chief rebel, made a long speech, of four hours’ duration, defending himself, and showing he was forced into complicity by Tito Kowaru. The Judge held out hopes to him of a pardon after a term of penal servitude.
