MR MACANDREW’S MEETING.
To the Editor of the Eveninq Star. Sri?, —So many different aecqunts of the voting for the motion of confidence proposed at Mr Macandrew’s meeting having been given, it is necessary that some explanation should be made, why in your report the numbers of 30 to 18 were given. When the motion was put, several hands were held up, and according to the Chairman’s estimate, they numbered 30. His estimate being questioned, he ogain took a show of hands, and on the second time declared the number to be 30. And the second show being taken, 1 counted 33 hands in favor of the motion but as many present confirmed the Chairman’s estimate, 1 elected to adopt the numbers by which he declared the motion to have been carried.—l am, Ac., Your Reporter.
