Westland. —The County Council of Westland have appointed Mr Horton, late clerk to Mr Cassius, to the office of County Treasurer. Mr Guinness, of Greymouth, is to he Chief ( lerk, and M r Dermott County Surgeon. The appointments were made with closed doors.
