LYRICS, Bt James Simmonds, TO-MORROW. I. To-morrow! Yes, to-morrow^ Ever seems to ring life’s chimes, Cheering still the heartfelt sorrow, Waking hopes of happier times ; Tho’ the morn may not restore us Half the joys avc have to-day, Ever onward seems before us, To-morrow with its face so gay. 11. To-morrow! Yes, to-morrow, As each day that passeth by, Is the light from Avhich we borrow, Rays to cheer life’s darkened sky ; Ever budding, never blooming, Seems this flo Aver for which we crave, Day by day old times entombing, Morrows prized but in the grave, THE ANGEL OF LIFE. I. There’s an angel gently stealing, O’er every home upon this earth, Breathing tones of kindest feeling, Waking all that’s good to birth ; E’er obeying Heaven’s mission, Softening manhood’s worldly strife, This is -woman’s dear tuition, She’s the angel of our life. 11. When the hour of woe is near ns, She’s the angel voice that breathes Words of comfort that will cheer us, E’en when twined with cypress wreaths; Then e’er speak in accents tender, Be she mother, sister, wife ; Too much love thou can’st not render, She’s the angel of our life.
