AN EXPLANATION.
To the Editor of the Evening Star. Pir—There is a paragraph in your issue of this date headed “Li..eased Surveyors,” which is calculated to mislead the public. “License ” meaning ‘to permit by legal grant,” theiefore the word “licensed” is wrong, there being no law on the subject-in this Province. Your heading should have been “ Authorised Government Surveyors,” as it refers to a departmental arrangement. I am, &c. W. E. Bruntox, Civil Engineer and Surveyor. 2nd September, 1869.
