PARIS FASHIONS FOR JUNE.

Robes appear to have undergone little or no change iluring the past month. The narrow ruches with which the jupes are are ordinarily so profusely trimmed have given place in many instances to a rich passementerie form d of leaf-shaped ornaments; and with outdoor costumes of delicate shades of colour, white lace is very frequently worn# At Chantilly a large proportion of the elegant toiletti'3 which tlje pace fop tRe French Derby invariably brings together, wer^ trimmed with deep flounces of white lace, and occasionally wi’h white lace insertions as well. Under jupes are frequently of some contrasting shade to the rest of the robe, which shade will ordinarily be repeated in the trimming of the chapeau. For instance, skirts of maize-coloured silk will be trimmed with narrow flutiugs of pale green ribbon, and those of a slightly yellower tinge with ruches of pale blue. Bonnets are of no individual form. We have the ordinary fanchons in tulle of aim st every shade, trimmed with flowers or coques of satin ribbon of the same tint, the scarf-strings fastening with a ribbon bow or a little flower. Then, there are chapeaux diadems formed of bouillonu6s of sjmopth crqpe, wi£h frontons of flowers interlaced with coques of floss satin, the necklace strings of tulle being bordered with a plisse, edged with satin pipings. Other bonnets in coloured tulld have diadems formed of a series of ruches rising one above the other, or of puffs of bands of lace, with a full-blown rose or some other large, handsome flower, posed at the upper patt of the fronton and immediately in the centre of the chapeau. Now and then a few buds will trail at the side or down behind. Next we have ebapeaux-puffs in black Spanish lace, o; namented with some large exotic flower with rich red golden petals, the strings of the chapeau being of ribbon of tne same shade and bordered on one side with narrow black lace Other

bonnets of black lace, with their necklace strings, envelop the face like a hood, and have high fronts, trimmed with black satin and lace bows, intermixed with bright marigolds and dull green leaves. In addition, we have round-shaped bonnets in fancy straw, ornamented with interweavings of black ve vet and tufts of flowers or clusters of wild strawberries. Some of these bonnets, turned up at the sides, are edged w'ith black lace, and are trimmed with a plume of small ostrich feathers, rising high at the tip and and starting from behind a large, full-blown rose and tw r o or three tiny buds. Feathers, indeed, are very commonly seen intermingl cl with flow'ers in every description of chapeau; at times we find one curling round a large white camellia, or encircling a bunch of hawtb rn blossoms; while flowers are frequently arranged on black lace bonnets as if by the merest accident, and trail here and there half over the chapeau. It is the negligent kind of floral disposition, too, which forms just now the favourite style of coiffure. THE ILLUSTRATIONS. Fig. 1. Costume Lavalliero, in a pale almond-coloured mohair, with the snort under jupe trimmed w r ith a plait d flounce of rich brown silk, having a heading divided off by a double biais.
