Daniel Chisholm was fined 10s for being drunk and disorderly on the 14th inst.—John Leckie, an old offender, was fined 50s, or, in default, ten days’ imprisonment, for being drunk and disorderly on the 14lh inst. —Jas. Grant was fined 10s, or twenty-four hours’ imprisonment, for being drunk on the loth inst. Civil Casks. Thompson v. Bowers.—A claim for LI Ids, for one pair Wellington boots and other goods. The defendant pleaded non-liability. Several witnesses were examined as to the delivery of the hoots and as to their value. Judgm nt for the plaintiff, LI 16s, together with costs. Thompson v. Hellyer. —A claim for the amount of an I 0 U, L 5 7s, and for sundries supplied, amounting together to L 4 I3s 2d. The defendant admitted owing L 5 7s 0d and 8s 9d of the sum claimed, and not indebted for the balance. One of the items claimed was for damage done to a ma e which the defendant stated had been placed in lis stable by the plaintiff, in spite of notice to the contrary, and which, in consecj uence, he (the defendant) had taken to the pound. —His Worship said that it appeared evident, the defendant having purchased a fourstalled stable of the plaintiff, and having given notice to him that his mare could not be allow ed to remain in it, he was justified in turning her out when placed there contrary to that notice. Deducting the items admitted, there appeared to be due to the plaintiff L2 4s 2d, a verdict for which amount was given. Kedmayue, agent in the estate of James and John Alien v. Huugerford.—This was a request to the Resident Magistrate to order the necessary steps to be taken to recover possession of land, let ou lease for fourteen years, which it was averred the defendant had deserted, and ou which a year’s rent Avas in arrear.—The order was granted accordingly. The only remaining cases were Langley v. Huntley, 145., and Clark v. Meikle, L 4. Judgment for the plaintiff was given in each case.
