Surgical. — We understand that a ease of catalepsy has occurred in this district, and that it has been successfully treated by Dr Stewart at the Hospital. It is a disease of very rare occurrence, and although tho diagnosis is easy enough, its causes are so obscure as to make treatment a difficult matter. The pa ient is a Chinaman, and we are happy to hear that ho is convalescent, and, save extreme weakness, in comparative good health. —Tuapeka Press. Dr Johnson was wont to say that a habit of looking at the best side of every event is far better than a thousand pounds a year.
