WASTE LAND BOARD.

The Waste Land Board met to-day ; present—the Commissioner of Waste Lands, Messer-- Reid and Hughes. W. Mitchell’s application to purchase 33 acres of un-urveyed land behind section 4, block 3, North Harbor and Blueskin, was declined.

James Smith Vial's application to purchase section 13, block 4, VVaipori, was declined until the township is surveyed. Permission was granted to D. M ‘lntyre to prospect for coal on sections 65 and 66, block 3, Papakaio. On the application of Alexander Kirtochs, it was resolved that he should send in valuations for Iris own improvements, and that sections 5 and 6, block 1, B. rwick, be put up to auction at L 6 each. The valuation to be paid him if he should not purchase. A common bush license was orderedf to be issued to Henry Beer, for protection for a tramway at the Wakatip. Applio tions were passed for purchase of sect’ons 139, 140, 141, and 143, block 2. Tuapeka East, held under an agricultural lease.

Julius Blenheim’s application to purchase section 24, block 10, Queenstown, was declined untd the new survey is completed'; the laud then to be offered at auction.

Gardiner’s application to lease the reserve between Glasgow and Forfar streets, Havvkesbury, was agreed to for seven years at 20s per acre ; and sections on the commonage of Edinburgh street were ordered to be sold by auction. R. G. Wilson’s application to purchase part of Clutha Island, opposite his property, was postponed. Mr W. Auld’s application for a coal lease at Havelock was granted for seven years at L 8 per annum ; the price not to exceed 10s per ton. Connell and Hoodie’s application to purchase the reserve adjoining section 40, block 1, Papakaio, was declined. The application of D. MTCenzie to purchase for A. MTnn-s sec.ion 48, block 4, Dunedin and East Taieri, was referred to the Government.
