This Day. (Before James Fulton, Esq., R. M.) DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Mary Ann Burke and Jane Anderson were each lined 20s, or 48 hours’ imprisonment, for disorderly conduct.—John Dalker, for drunkenness, was fined 10s or 24 hours’ imprisonment. BREACH OF THE LICENSING ORDINANCE, His Worship gave judgment on the information against Messrs Marshall and Copelaud, for a breach of the Otago Licensing Ordinance, 1805. He said, “ 1 come to the conclusion that the fact of the defendants having complied with the provisions of the Distillation Act, ISOS, does not absolve them from compliance with the provisions of the Otago Licensing Ordinance, 1805; the former being, in my opinion, simply for distillation purposes, and not interfering in any way xvitli the provisions of the Otago Licensing Ordinance, under which the information is laid. The defendants rre, therefore, fined ten pounds, together with costs.” PETTY OFFENCES. Grant Farquhar, for allowing a dog to be at large in the habit of annoying horses, was fined ss; William Wright, for allowing his chimney to take fire, 5s ; and John Shennon, for driving a cab after dark without lights, ss. ; costs were to be paid by the defendants in each case.
