The Prince’s Munificence. Writing under this heading the Greyinouth Evening Star says:—“ The total expenses incurred in the reception of the Prince in New Zealand is estimated at over LIB,OOO ; the presents he carried away at near L 2,000. His Highness’s donation of L3O for the orphan asylums and the education of poor ch Idren cannot fail to evoke grab ful feelings of the deepest and most indelible nature. We trust that the British taxpayer will not again be called upon to re-imburse the Prince for the generous donation.
