PROPOSED Bye-Law No. V,, nuderythe Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, published for general information under the provisions of Section 189 of said Act, preparatory to its being subsequently considered by the City Council: — Bye-Law of the Council of the City of Dunedin, made under Section 186 of the Municipal Corporation Act, 1867—a Bye-Law to provide for the compulsory cleaning o? certain footpaths within the City of Dunedin. In pursuance of the powers and provisions contained in Section 186, part 13, of the Municipal Coiporations Act, 1867, the Council of the City of Dunedin ordain as follows —-that is to say—- “ Any person guilty of the following offence within the City of Dunedin shall, on being convicted of any such offence, be liable to pay any penalty not exceeding (L 5) live pounds. “ Any owner or tenant of any land or premises, in front of which the footpath has been asphalted or otherwise paved, who omits daily 1o clean before 8 o’clock a.m., and to keep clean, so much of the footpath as is opposite to and in front of any such premises.” J.
