Corporation Notices. CITY OF DUNEDIN. THE CITIZENS’ ROLL, YEAR 1869-1870. Notice is hereby given that the Citizens’ Roll, year 1869—-1870, has been compiled in terms of the Ordinance. All claims for insertion therein must be lodged on or before 3rd July, and all objections against names already on the Roll must be lodged at the Town Clerk’s office, Princes street, on or before the sth day of July proximo. Blank forms of claims and objections may be had on application at the City Council Chambers, where also the manuscript Roll may be inspected. J. M. MASSEY, Town Clerk. 16th June, 1869. CITY OF DUNEDIN. PROPOSED REGULATIONS UNDER BYE-LAW No. 2, UNDER THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, 1867. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Regulations as follow have been Proposed, and will be considered by the City Council of Dunedin, at their next ordinary Meeting, with a view to adoption, viz. : Ist. A Regulation mado under the authority of Section 4, Subdivision 1, Part 1 of Schedule 13 of said Act.— “ For regulating the height from the ground, shape, figure, dimensions, and materials of Porticos or Verandahs.” 2nd. A Regulation made under the authority of Section 14, Subdivision 3, Part 1 of Schedule 13 of said Act.— “For regulating the formation, &c,, of Drains to be laid under any Footway or Channel.” 3rd. A Regulation made under the authority of Section 26, Subdivision , 4, Part 1 of Schedule 13 of said Act.— “For regulating the formation, &c., of Crossings across or over Footways and Channels. ” 4th. A Regulation made under the authority of Section 45, Subdivision 9, Part 1, of Schedule 13 of said Act ; “For appointing the hours during which it shall not be lawful to drive into or through the city, or any part thereof, any cattle intended for sale, slaughter, or shipment, or travelling f. om one part of New Zealand, or of any other colony, to any other place,” &c., &c. sth. A Regulation made tinder the authority of Section 4, Part 6, of Schedule 13 of said Act :—“ For appointing the times and hours during or at which respectively any registered building or ground shall be used for the purpose for which it is registered, or shall be closed,” &c., &c. 6th. A Regulation made under the authority of Section 3, Subdivision 2, Part 7, of Schedule 13 of said Act: — “For prescribing the distance from any adjoining land, or from any building, within which it shall not be lawful to make or keep any stack of hay, corn, straw, or other produce, if not planted under roof or cover, and the like where placed under roof or cover, and for prohibiting or restraining the use for such covering of certain inflammable materials.” 7th. A Regulation made under the authority of Section 1, Subdivision 1, Part 8, of Schedule 13 of said Act; — ‘ ‘ For appointing limits within which it shall not be lawful to keep any swine. ” Bth. A Regulation made under the authority of Section 2, Subdivision 1, Part 8, of Schedule 13 of said Act:— “For appointing hours for the removal of night soil, offal, or other offensive refuse or matter, and a place for the deposit of the same.” 9th. Regulations made under the general authority of Section 48, Subdivision 1, Part 10, of Schedule 13 of said Act: —“ For appointing the several sums to be paid for licenses for hackney carriages, and the rates or fares to be paid for every such carriage. For regulating the conduct of the owners and drivers thereof plying within the City of Dunedin in their several employments, the days and hours within which they may exercise their calling, the number of persons to be carried by any licenced (carriage, the standings of hackney carriages, and the mode in which any such carriages are to stand thereon,” &c., &c., &c. 10th. Regulations made under the authority of Section 73, Subdivision 2, Part 10, of Schedule 13 of said Act:— “ For appointing the several sums to he paid for licenses for carts, the weight to be carried for a single load by every cart licensed to stand or ply for hire, the standings for carts licensed to ply for hire, not being night carts, and for wood carts and water carts respectively. For appointing the rates and charges to be paid for the hire of any licensed cart, and the amount of rewards to be paid to water carters attending at fires,’ &c., &c., &c. Notice is further given, that a draft of the above titled Regulations is deposited for the inspection of any person interested therein, at the office of the City Council. J. M. MASSEY,Town Clerk. Meets at Milton Hall, Stuart street, on Thursday Evenings, at 6.30 p.m. Terms : 10s. 6d. per Quarter, The Amateur Class on Wednesday and Friday Evenings, at 7.30.
