MAILS CLOSE.

For Northern Provinces of New Zealand, Hokitika, and Greymouth, per ss Phoebe, on Monday, the 15th instant, at 8.30 a.m. For Me bourne and Australian Colonies (for letters specially so addressed) per ss Alhambra, on Wednesday, the 17th inst. at 1.80 p.m. Registered letters, money orders and newspapers for the above mails one hour previous. Per ss Albion, on Thursday, 18th inst., as under:— For Ceylon, India, Penang, Singapore,Batavia, Manilla, China, Aden. Mauritius, Cape of Good Hope, Suez, Alexandria, the Continent of Europe, via Trieste, Vancouver’s Island, Valparaiso and Cal.ao, at 12 noon. For France and the Continent of Europe, via France, at 12.30 pm. For Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland and Tasmania, at 1 pm. For Great Britain, via Southampton, at 1 pm. For Great Britain, via Mai'seilles, Victoria and Southland, at 1.30 pm. For newspapers and registered letters at 11 am. Money orders, for transmission by the above mails may be procured till 11 am. N.B.—Late letters for Great Britain and Australia may be posted till 1.40 pm, and will be received by the Mail Agent,in the cabin of ps Golden Age, at the Jetty, up to the time of sailing, such letter- to bear a late fee of Is (one shilling)’iu addition to the postage, the whole to be affixed in postage stamps.
