BRUTALITY.
(To the Editor of the JEvening Star.J Sir, — A case of wanton brutality is being perpetrated in this city which demands immediate attention, In Aikenlieads paddock, in Cumberland street, is lying a horse which fell down on Saturday morning last from sheer exhaustion* It is covered with running sores, and has had neither food nor water given to it. The animal is too weak to get up to feed ; nor has it had any covering put over it to protect it from the flies which must of necessity cause the poor beast to suffer the most excruciating agonies ; and what is worse, this neglect is not unknown to the police. If there is no society here for the Erevention of of cruelty to dumb animals, it is igh time there should be one.—l am, &c., Veritas,
