The Evening Star. DUNEDIN, TUESDAY, JAN. 2, 1866.

The adjourned meeting of the promoters of the Dunedin Races, 1866, is to be held at the Provincial Hotel this evening.

We observe that a grand gala ball will take place at Vauxhall Gardens this evening, and as it •will be a moonlight night, and the weather is fine, there will doubtless be a great number who will avail themselves of the steamboat, which will run <every half-hour.
