An advertisement in another column orders a full dress parade of the No. 2 Company (Dunedin Scottish) on Friday next, after which a general meeting of the Company for “business of the utmost importance ” will take place. The No. 2 Squad of the Dunidiu Scottish will finish their third-class firing at Hillside tomorrow morning at half-past five o’clock. On Thursday the 14th instant, a match will take place between the Port Chalmers and Dunedin Naval Brigades at the butts of the former corps. The contest will between 6 from each brigade at 2, 3, 4, and 500 yards, 5 shots each. The Port Chalmers Brigade are actuated by a nesire to discover their best shots with a view to challenging ten men from any other corps afterwards. Captain and Adjutant Graham, who has for a long time superintended the progress of the Volunteer movement in Otago, has, we learn, been ordered to head-quarters at Wellington, from whence, we understand, it is likely, he will proceed to more active service in the North. We understand that a testimonial is being raised to be presented to Captain Graham to morrow after parade. It is to be hoped that the Volunteers will embrace this opportunity of showing their appreciation of Captain Graham’s services.
