IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE NORTH.
A most important success lias been achieved by the Colonial forces, Native and European, on the East Coast. The large pah erected and fortified by the main body of the Hauhau fanatics at Poverty Bay has been captured, and the enemy to the number of 180 have surrendered at discretion. The attacking force was commanded by Major Fraser ; eleven of the rebels were killed, and of the colonial force, 2 officers, Ensign Boss and Dr Ormond were severely wounded.
