RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
THIS DAY. (Before the Hon. A. C. Strode, R.M.) There were no cases on the charge sheet. . NUISANCES/ G-eorge R. West was charged by the Inspector of Nuisances with allowing a nuisance to exist on his premises in George street. He was fined 10s and costs. Mrs Lambert was also charged with allowing a nuisance to exist on her premises situate in Stafford street. Mr Ward, who appeared on behalf of defendant;, asked for an adjournment until Tuesday, for the purpose of producing the plans for the improvement of the land, &c, which was granted.
The following case was inadvertently omitted from our Police report yesterday : John Fox v. Eugene O'Connor—claim of £lB 5s 7cl for commission on trie sale of wood, coke, and coal. The defendant pleaded not indebted, and a sat off of £23 Is Bd. Tho plaintiff admitted he owed the defendant a larger amount than that he was suing him for ; and the Magistrate, after hearing evidence on both sides, d smissed the. case.
