FOUND SHOT IN RIVER
P.A. HASTINGS, October 26 The body of a single man, Raymond Vincent Phillips, 29, of Taradale was found early yesterday afternoon floating in^the Tutaekuri Rivei. A .11 calibre rifle was recovered from tne river close to the body, and it is believed that death was due to^a bullet wound in the middle of his forehead. The body was caught in snags close to the bank and had been in the water for several hours. „ . , . . , Phillips left home at 7.30 last night and did not return. The police were notified and a search was made.
